1. Mission
We work directly with 10 athletic departments to: Establish a sustainable high-tech sports network that promotes student-athletes in the Calumet Region and generates revenue for athletic departments. It's a bold mission and one that in its infancy. But we have the advantage of being located on the campus of a regional university and to have other colleges as affiliates.. Students and recent grads schooled in broadcasting technology make full use of robotic cameras, cloud-based broadcasting, live-assist, on-site production, streaming video automation, and more. We partner with athletic departments that appreciate what technology can do and who are eager to use it to bolster their programs. |
3. Connect teams with local fans
JEDtv broadcasts dozens of games - or more - for each school. Parents, alumni, fans, sponsors, students, etc. watch their teams. This strengthens the bond between teams and community.
4. Connect business with local teams
People who watch a local high school or college game have a positive connection to their team. When they see a TV commercial about your business, that positive association extends to you. It is simple, positive branding.
5. Connection, community, cash
It took a while for the Big 10 network to become the force it is today. The first step was to broadcast a lot of games in a lot of sports and establish a connection between fans and school and business and TV. Once established, the connection resulted in higher attendance at events, millions of eyeballs, positive branding for business... and a ton of money for athletic departments.
Ultimately, connection and community result in opportunity for businesses to brand their wares in a positive manner to willing audiences. The end result is cash for athletic departments. Connection-community-cash is happening at division 1 colleges across the country. It is rare in smaller colleges and high schools.
